About Us & Our Employees:

Jamaican-owned & operated, we are Jamaica Seaside Villas! We employ housekeepers, groundskeepers & other staff at our two villas, Maison Bleu & Villa McKenzie, which operate year-round. Our employees & other regular workers rely on Jamaica’s now-devastated tourism industry to survive.  Due to Hurricane Melissa, our employees & many others in our community who regularly rely on us for jobs have ZERO income to support their families. The impact is tremendous. They literally have no roofs, no food, no water, no clothes and the list continues. 

 

Unfortunate Issues With International Aid:

While international aid is pouring in, our employees & others in the community are still in substantial need of basic necessities.  From a practical standpoint, aid is not reaching remote areas.  Moreover, those living in remote areas do not have means (personal vehicle, money for a taxi, or physically marooned) to access relief points. It is a logistical nightmare to access basic relief like food and water.  

Local Aid:

Because of the generous donations we have already received, the owner of the villas has been able to translate your money into local aid by delivering food, supplies & other necessities directly to employees & community members in remote locations. Even toilet paper is a basic need.

Despite our little efforts, the need is still great, and the need will be extensive for quite some time. Damage to the country due to Hurricane Melissa is estimated at up to US$7B as of 11.7.25.   Please consider giving what you can, no matter how small. And, consider giving once now and maybe think about us again over the holidays when you hare having a hot meal ... and then, give a little more!

How Your Donation Will Help: 

Your donations will directly fund the purchase of essential materials for rebuilding efforts, including:

• Building Supplies: Roofing materials, lumber and framing, windows & doors.

• Utilities: Electrical & plumbing components.

• Health & Safety: Cleaning & sanitation supplies.

• Basic Necessities & School Supplies: Food, medications, back to school items & other crucial necessities.
